Meet the Founder
Professor Agnieszka Piotrowska, PhD is an award-winning creative practice researcher, educator, and psychologist with a global reputation for her originality and leadership. A distinguished filmmaker, theorist, and trained psychotherapist, she is also a Mindvalley-certified life coach. Based in the UK, she has presented her work internationally, including at Columbia University and the University of Southern California, inspiring others through her commitment to inclusivity and cross-cultural collaboration.
She has held senior academic roles, including Head of the School of Film, Media, and Performing Arts at the University for the Creative Arts (UK). Currently, she supervises PhD students at Staffordshire University and Oxford Brookes University, where she is also a Visiting Professor, and serves as External Strategic Advisor for the University of East London. From 2019 to 2022, she was Professor of Film and Cultural Studies at the University of Gdańsk, directing the prestigious Visible Evidence Conference, where she continues to serve on the Governing Council.
Professor Piotrowska is best known for her acclaimed documentary Married to the Eiffel Tower and her award-winning experimental work in Zimbabwe, honoured at the WHO Festival in 2023. Her influential scholarship on psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, and culture includes Psychoanalysis and Ethics in Documentary Film (2014, 2023), with a new volume on ethics forthcoming in 2025.
